From the impossible-to-pronounce distillery Bruichladdich, comes the first and introductory whisky from the Melbourne Whisky Club. Hailing from the island of Islay, renowned for particularly smokey and peaty whiskies is this unpeated example of the classic taste of Bruichladdich - colloquially known as 'The Laddie'. Bruichladdich are responsible for both the strongest (abv) whisky - X4 - as well as the peatiest whisky in the world - Octomore. The Classic Laddie is the antithesis of these other releases, being mild, unpeated and incredibly smooth. A great way to start our journey into the world of whiskies.
Much lighter than many other single malts The Classic Laddie is floral in flavour with undertones of citrus.
Too easy to drink, I just knocked back a glass at 3pm while writing this.
Enjoy.
